Supply Chain Planning Manager

Job Description:
  • You are part of the European Supply Chain Planning Team and you will be responsible for and leading the Zone Supply Chain Planning Team.  
  • The Zone SCP team consists of:
    • Portfolio management:
      • The management of the request for feasibility study [RFS] for new or for modifications on existing finished goods called stock keeping units [SKU].
      • Ownership of the portfolio optimization process in terms of decomplexity and harmonization of SKU’s.
    • SNP [supply network planning].
      • Responsible for the coordination of the overall SNP processes for the EU Zone, closely cooperating with the operational Supply Network Planning teams, Scheduling, Zone Logistics Support and Zone Brewery Support.
    • Inventory Optimization.
      • Responsible for the inventory policy [IP] of the finished goods within all European AB-InBev stock locations and all related KPI’s.
    • Cost Optimized Network Allocation [CONA].
      • Ownership of the European CONA calculation as well as the model that is used for the calculation of the optimal route to markets [ORTM].
    • DP [demand planning].
      • Investigate best practices within the zone, between zones and outside the company and define and implement new best practices in Europe.
      • Perform demand segmentation, statistical optimization and value added analyses and align on the results with the responsible demand planners.
  • Within your responsibility, you own the target setting and monitoring of the key performance indicators (KPI) and the performance indicators (PI) related to supply chain planning.
  • Execute best practice processes. Key areas of focus will be the design, implementation and facilitation of best practice processes and systems for Supply Chain Planning and S&OP, and develop the capabilities of the zone planning resources.
  • You keep the SuEP [supply excellence program] flows related to all departments in Supply Chain Planning up to date.
  • Your home base is Leuven but traveling within Europe will be required to perform your job.

Main accountabilities:
  • You lead the zone supply chain planning team.
  • Design, develop and conduct Supply Chain Planning processes, support the operational planning streams in support of business growth. Partners closely with key Business Leaders to implement the growth strategy.
  • Manage, drive and implement new planning scopes to completeness.
  • You look for opportunities to optimize the supply chain planning process, you define the required capex and you develop the related business case.
  • You will initiate and you will lead projects or you will support exercises that are related to supply chain planning.
  • Owner of the European inventory policy, including the definition of the safety and maximum stock levels as well as the model that is used for the calculation of the inventory policy and simulations.
  • Implementation of cost optimal network allocation according the reviewed ORTM.
  • Own the cost toolkit database to support the CONA process. This database is used to support the calculation of business cases in the context of network optimization scenario’s and projects.
  • Coordinate and manage the Supply Chain Planning Budget Cycle and align inputs/outputs with Finance/Commercial/Marketing.
  • Manage and guard on standardization of the SNP and DP process of the regions & ensure high quality of their deliverables: volume allocation, plan adherence, forecast activities, budget cycle, S&OP tasks.
  • You own the RFS process including the SKU portfolio.
  • You meet on a regular base the vice presidents of Supply and Marketing to discuss  the new RFS and to get their approval on the next steps.
  • Yearly assessment of the complete portfolio [decomplexity / harmonization].
  • The outcome of this exercise will be discussed with the VP Zone Supply, VP Marketing and VP Commercial. This includes the stage gate 4 [SG4] process.
  • Ownership and accountability for the planning KPI’s. Service Level, Inventory Days Coverage, Distributed Volumes, Stock Age Index, Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias, Production Plan Attainment, Frozen Period Attainment, active sku’s, RFS time to approve, RFS time to implement and RFS completeness compliance.
  • You will participate in innovation projects where you will cover the supply vision and guidelines.

  • You have a university degree.
  • You have experience with people management. Knowledge of supply processes and project management is a plus.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of English. Besides your mother tongue, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
  • You are a leader and a team player.

  • You train and develop your team in order to achieve their full potential.
  • You have a good knowledge of the Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You have excellent communication skills which is a pre-requisite for this function.

  • You take initiative, looking for improvements is part of your personality.
  • A structured approach and an accurate execution are important skills to fulfil this job.
