Global Packaging Decoration Director

Location: Global Headquarters – Leuven, Belgium

Purpose of the Job:

  • The Director Global Packaging Decoration is a strategic position, responsible for multiple packaging, printing research & development projects.
  • 10+ years of strong FMGC experience in packaging
  • A technical leader with proven experience and track record of delivering results
  • Highly motivated, self-starter capable of defining and package a packaging & printing platform strategy
  • Manage a team of Global (direct) and Zone (indirect) experienced R&D Packaging Engineers and material scientists
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior management
  • Coach, analyze and provide constructive feedback to the team of Packaging Engineers
  • Connect and develop with external suppliers and put in place joint development agreements
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to determine “best in class” technologies
  • Understanding and conduct IP searches and put in place patent strategy and applications
  • Connect and collaborate with AB InBev Global and Zone innovation teams 

About the candidate:

Core Competencies:                                                                                                  

  • PhD or relevant technical education in Materials Engineering that enables technical knowledge of printing inks, glass, aluminum, surface coating, adhesion
  • DOE (Design of Experiment) or Six Sigma (Black Belt, Green Belt, etc.)
  • Experience and passion for front end innovation
  • Strength in managing, coaching and motivating subordinates to deliver exceptional results
  • Skills in enrolling top leadership to endorse your business proposals
  • Strong communication, English speaking and writing skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • High impact and influence
