Learning & Development Coordinator 

Objectives

Responsible for supporting the delivery of a customer driven Learning & Development service, providing day to day support to the hospitality and retail outlets  and key stakeholders across Brand Experience.
Ensuring the management of the Learning & Development  function contributes towards successful achievement of organisational goals.

Main Duties

Workshops:
  • Co-ordinate delivery and attendance of training workshops
  • Facilitate, co-facilitate and support delivery of training workshops, on a range of subjects, and other Learning & Development initiatives
  • To prepare and update materials for other facilitators
  • Manages the delivery and maintains and improves the Onboarding Programme across the different sites.
  • Complete post training evaluation on training delivered in the business and highlights findings.
  • To send out invitations, pre-course and post-course work where required.
  • To book internal and external training space and ensure set-up is as required

Training the Trainers
  • Implement the Train the trainer process to ensure that the effectiveness of training and trainers are monitored.
  • Regularly meet, coach, support and motivate trainers to ensure they are supported in meeting the on-the-job training requirements of their hospitality or retail sites.
  • Works with trainers to ensure each hospitality or retail site has a robust and effective hospitality or retail site orientation.
  • Encourages the sharing of training material with other hospitality or retail site trainers and paying close attention to the delivery of SOP training and hospitality or retail site induction training.  

Promotion of Learning & Development and communication
  • Communicate information about training events in a timely and professional manner to ensure the business is kept up to date about training and development activities.
  • To issue a yearly and monthly training schedule/calendar and send out reminders
  • Acts as a Learning & Development ambassador by being first point of call for enquiries and Builds effective relationships with colleagues and hospitality or retail sites.

Financial
  • Raise Purchase request; update Training Budget and spend tracker
  • Reviews Probationary Reviews and Appraisal completion levels, encouraging improvements and escalating issues where necessary.

Administration
  • Responsible for all  Learning & Development Admin tasks
  • To maintain an efficient and systematic administration of all training related matters ensuring records are updated and current to maximize attendance of courses Record training evaluation sheets and highlight trends, areas of success or concern.
  • Manages the Learning & Development systems and enquiries relating to them. Including maintaining Flow and Axonify  actioning all necessary requests.
  • Coordinate and book internal/ external training. This includes supporting with Compliance & H&S training coordination (e.g. Food Safety; support of Fire Training & First Aid)
  • Manage and maintain any associated training equipment/ material
  • To attend meetings as required and performs other duties that management may require from time to time within reason.
  • Support annual Training Needs Analysis by interviewing retail and hospitality site management team
  • Support delivery of new Brand Experience initiatives/ projects
  • Promotes new Brand Experience Learning & Development initiatives and policies

Other
  • Manages and promotes the Cross- Training process and celebrates completion
  • When required, supports the People team to deliver hospitality or retail site initiatives e.g. Engagement Survey, Annual Appraisals and team engagement events
  • Keeps up-to-date with hospitality and T&D trends. Sharing insights appropriately with stakeholders.
  • Concurrently identifies and highlights development needs through proactive engagement with the business and quality measurement tools.
  • To assist with development of new Learning & Development initiatives where required.
  • To support the people business partner with adhoc employment relations and people support.

Role Specification

Line management support


  • Provide day to day support to line managers in line with agreed levels and standards required

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the legislative compliance framework

  • Co-ordinate induction & on-boarding training for all hospitality & retail employees


Scope of Job


  • Assistance in providing Learning & Development support to Teams within Brand Experience Retail & Hospitality sites within the UK.

About the candidate:
Education
  • Task Trainer and Group Training Certificate or equivalent qualification (essential)
  • Business Management, HRM or Hospitality Management degree (desirable)

Experience
  • In administration role or similar role – Essential
  • Has worked in a fast paced multi-cultural environment – Essential
  • Worked as a departmental trainer before or in a role with a lot of Operational training responsibility- Essential
  • Spanish or Italian language knowledge is an advantage
