Global First Line Manager 
Brewing & Packaging RPB 
Location: RPB – Research Pilot Brewery in Nottingham UK


Purpose of the Job:
  • Lead the Research Pilot Brewery (RPB) – Experimental Brewery - in Nottingham and the team of Technicians.
  • Lead the product and brewing process pilot productions (new products, value engineering, yeast & fermentation trials)
  • Lead daily RPB Nottingham planning and internal communication
  • Organize daily RPB activities and communication within RPB, maximizing RPB team & client satisfaction
  • Manage the RPB Team of Technicians on the aspects of Safety and People, providing guidance and cascading ABInBev’s standard methods and principles.
  • Support the Global RPB Excellence Program (Process and Method Management, including 5S, confidentiality, standardization, maintenance and safety programs (VPO)
  • Support and execute specialized brewing/production processes or phys-chem and microbiology analysis as needed; interpret results and propose solutions
  • Support the increase of capabilities of Global RPB, leading new capex investment projects until commissioning and validation of equipment
  • Ensure an efficient way of working inside the RPB, by proposing and developing new processes and/or procedures; integrate best practices
  • Scouting, identifying and developing new equipment, methods and processes to fill the prioritized gaps, aligned with Global Technology and Process Development Directors
  • Develop, leverage and maintain active external network in the following fields: brewing technology, brewing raw materials, flavouring, packaging technology; acquire new knowledge
  • Ensure RPB KPI’s are on track and propose solutions to close the gaps
  • Full understanding of all equipment and methods used
  • Accountable for the People Cycle for all the RPB Technicians: Leadership Competencies, Functional Competencies, 1:1 meetings regarding performance , feedback on the appraisals, Personal Development Plans (PDP) management,
  • Provide operational management and coaching to the Technicians
  • Ensure all technicians are trained on all methods/processes used

About the candidate:

Leadership and Functional competencies required

Education
  • University Master degree (Engineering, Brewing,….)
  • Fluent in English (written/spoken); other language skills are an asset
  • PC literate: knowledge of standard software programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint …)

Experience and Functional competencies

  • Minimum 2 years experience in brewery environment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across different cultural realities
  • Strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills
  • High leadership potential – Potential to grow career in GITEC/ZITEC/Supply
  • Able to manage changing environments and requirements; open minded
  • Knowledge of the Company Management System: VPO, Excellence Programs
  • Able to connect & develop with external parties
