Reporting Returnable Packaging Specialist

Purpose of the Job

  • Manage the Western Europe (WE) Returnable Packaging (RTP) information flow and decision support tools, supporting the WE RTP organization.
  • Act as the zone central administrator for the Returnable Packaging assets.
  • Provide analysis, projections and reports on availability, spend and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to enable the WE RTP organization to ensure availability at lowest landed Capex and Opex spend.
  • Act as Zone central contact for Global reporting and analysis of CHEP pallet balances and flows.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve existing processes and share best practices across Business Units (BU)
Business environment

Main characteristics:
    • Scope covers all Returnable Packaging that is owned, leased or filled in Western Europe
    • Management tools in scope include crate and keg availability models, Capex budget database, sampling database, KPI Track & Monitoring (T&M) tools

Key dimensions:
    • 150 RetPack items, covering 60% of WE volume
    • On-demand reconciliations of data covering RTP assets.
    • Weekly reports and analysis of RTP KPIs
    • Monthly reports and analysis of Capex and Opex spend
    • Monthly control of balances

About the candidate:

  • Ensure the empties availability in network taking all supply activities into the consideration without Service level hits
  • Maintaining the following tools from both functional and information accuracy perspective:
    • RTP budget database
    • RTP availability models
    • CHEP pallet reporting and audit preparation
    • German bottle activation spreadsheets
    • Monthly sampling of kegs and crates returns
  • Ensuring consistency and quality of information in these tools
  • Recognize, signal deviations and potential issues to the WE RetPack management team
  • Issuing recommendations on tools improvement
  • Issuing recommendations on information flow improvement, relating to both local data availability as well as information from EERP, APO (SAP applications)
  • Providing information to external pallet lease providers
  • T&M and reporting on RTP KPIs and providing analysis and recommendations on performance gaps and opportunities
  • T&M and reporting on RTP balances with customers and external service providers and providing analysis and recommendations on performance gaps and opportunities
  • Perform tasks as requested by line manager
Qualifications and Technical competencies required

  • Education / Language skills
  • Good understanding of FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) logistics processes
  • Good understanding of data flows and capability to filter information
  • Advanced English speaking and writing
  • German language is an advantage (but not essential to the post)
  • Working in a data driven role essential
  • Working with decision support tools
  • Understanding of SAP and APO is an advantage but not essential
  • Logistics operations  (inventory management / demand / supply planning) an advantage but not essential
