Global Research Pilot Brewery (=RPB) 
Technician I Nottingham UK Ad-interim
Location: RPB – Nottingham, UK
 
Purpose of the Job:  
                      
Delivery of high quality and complex prototypes for new process and product development for both Global and Zone Europe innovation projects. Building and leveraging technical expertise for existing processes and equipment.  

Support design, implementation and validation of new equipment. Provide execution of product and brewing process pilot productions, including yeast & fermentation testing within the framework of the innovative projects carried out by Global Innovation and Technology Development teams. Delivery of high quality and complex prototypes for new process and product development for both Global and Zone Europe innovation projects. Building and leveraging technical expertise for existing processes and equipment. Support design, implementation and validation of new equipment.

Tasks:
  • Understand targets / objectives on assigned trials requests, product specifications, and process procedures
  • Full responsibility to execute new trials, while striving for 100% accuracy
  • Actively involved in the transformation of a RPB request into a new product innovation
  • Execute blending, filtration and filling trials
  • Execute phys-chem and microbiology analysis
  • Ensure that required raw-materials and equipment's for trials are available
  • Perform trials according to established ABI process protocols
  • Apply good industrial practices & brewery standards to ensure quality in trial execution & reporting to guarantee reliability of results
  • Record all the data and observations made during the trials (datasheets)
  • Contact with 3rd parties’ relationships (suppliers for maintenance of equipment's) of basic complexity
  • Support Research Pilot Brewery improvement activities under close supervision, executing simple optimization plans of existing methodologies / capabilities and routine management

About the candidate:
Requirements: 
Education & Experience
  • Fluent Knowledge of English required, other language skills constitute an additional asset
  • Chemical knowledge is necessary to understand the results of projects and to be able to find the root cause when issues occur.
  • Graduate degree in brewing, scientific background and/or engineering is an asset
  • Practical brewing and packaging experience is an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills, knowledge of standard software
  • programs (Word, Excel, ...)
  • Able to work with protocol process and equipment utilized to perform trials
  • Result-oriented with respect for quality and timing
  • Practical mindset and pro-active seeing work (manual work, technical, analytical reporting, safety, 5S, …) that needs to be done.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and team skills
  • Does not mind working in shifts (dayshift & late shift)
