Strategic Business Partner

Responsible for supporting the delivery of a customer driven and comprehensive People service, providing day to day support to key stakeholders across the function(s), and ensuring all relevant People policies and procedures are maintained and updated as required.

Key Tasks
Strategy Development - Support the People Director as appropriate
Strategy - Support the People Director to
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the People function by undertaking appropriate diagnostic work.
  • Facilitate effective implementation of new People initiatives in designated areas as appropriate
  • Ensure the alignment of people strategies with existing company policies and procedures, and update as required
  • Work closely with the Zone People team to develop and implement ways of working to Zone aligned functional teams
  • Analysis and delivery of people analytics, supporting the functional leads by providing up to date information and action plans to allow for future growth and develop strategic partnerships

  • Develop strong networks across the UK/Ireland and Global/Zone

Line Management Support

Resourcing
  • Provide resourcing advice to all functions as required
  • Ensure agreed recruitment processes are followed
  • Develop good relationship with Wilson, recruitment team, as required to ensure agreed service levels are achieved
  • Provide support and advice on Sponsorship / visa requirements in line with the home office requirements
Operational Advice & Support
  • Provide day to day support to line managers in line with agreed levels and standards required
  • Provide advice and support on disciplinary and grievance matters as appropriate and application of People policies (e.g. disciplinary, grievance, flexible working)
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the legislative framework
  • Maintain appropriate SLA for key departments on the level and standard of day to day support required
ER Advice
  • Support the promotion of a culture of performance, change orientation and improvement
  • Where appropriate, challenge existing ways of working to ensure all employees align with the “Dream, People, Culture”
  • Ensure all ER matters are managed appropriately
  • Assist in the review performance management processes across each function and implement agreed action plans as required
Policies and Procedures

Development / Upgrading
  • Responsible for ensuring existing policies are “fit for purpose”
  • In conjunction with the People Director, draft new policies and procedures, develop and implement as appropriate
Calibre & Leadership Development - Support the People Director as appropriate

Training needs
  • Liaise with regional PC team to ensure effective training and development plans in place for individuals and teams
  • Develop appropriate actions to ensure these are integrated into individual performance reviews
Leadership Development
  • Monitor and lead the local OPR processes to ensure a consistent approach and timetable is aligned to the annual people cycle
